5 WAYS TO GET INTO THE CHRISTMAS SPIRT

Christmas is only around the corner, does anybody else feel like it has gone SO fast? It can hard to get into the Christmas spirit when you are so busy with work, family and friends. But you need to give yourself some spare time to get into the festive spirt and here are 5 ways that can easily help you!

Visit a Christmas Market

Visiting your local Christmas Market is certain to get you into the Christmas spirit as it is full of festive foods, songs, stalls, rides, decorations and people who are all cheery and happy. The Nottingham Winter Wonderland is amazing this year and I recommend you all go if you haven’t already, it is even worth a little journey. There is plenty to go for kids and adults and as it is located right in the middle of the shopping town centre. A must is visiting the Ice Bar and go Ice Skating and after that dip some churros into some luscious melted chocolate.

Listen to Christmas songs

If you haven’t already been listening to Christmas films…WHY NOT? It is a perfect way to get into the Christmas Spirt and it is so fun too. Sing along to all the Christmas classics and the bad remixes in the shower, in the car, on the radio, on tv- everywhere. Here are some of our favourites.

The Classics: White Christmas by Bing Crosby, It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas by Bing Crosby, “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Andy Williams.

The cute: Mistletoe- Justin Bieber, 8 Days of Christmas-  Destiny's Child, All I Want For Christmas- Mariah Carey,Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas- Michael Buble.

Watch Christmas Films

As mentioned previously, you need to make time for yourself to relax this Christmas, rushing around Christmas shopping is NOT relaxing. Spending an evening watching Christmas films is relaxing drinking Egg Nogg with your feet up. There are so many Christmas Films on Netflix and I am sure there will be plenty to watch on TV over the Christmas period. There are a wide range of 'christmassy' films available, there is the silly but good like Nativity. The absolute classics such as Home Alone and The Grinch. The not Christmas themed but still great to watch in December such as Harry Potter and Disney. The Rom-Coms such as The Holiday and Love Actually. The amazing animations such as The Polar Express. The list is ENDLESS.

BAKE

Baking is a great way to get into the Christmas Spirit. It is a fun activity and you get to eat afterwards, what more could you want. There are a lot of typical festival bakes such as gingerbread, mince pies, pigs in blankets. I have found some amazing recipes online that I want you all to try. Firstly, these Christmas Cinnamon Orange Cookies from glowsteady.co.uk. I have also found this amazing Christmas Pudding Recipe from the BBC website.

  Festival Hot Drinks

Festival hot drinks get better and better every year. The flavours in Costa are absolutely amazing, they range from Spiced Orange to Hazelnut to Gingerbread and MORE. The perfect way to have Christmas on your taste buds. The majority of coffee shops will sell festive drinks so pop into your local for a nice break and a hot drink to keep warm.

I hope this post gave you lots of ideas and we at Link3 hope you all have the best christmas.
