What inspired you to work in education recruitment?
Education recruitment is something that I have always been interested in as an occupation with having close friends working within the industry, however, never materialised as a role for myself until now. I have a sales history and background but more fundamentally, I have worked with children closely in an education setting. I have seen how important it is for the right people to work with children to help them enjoy education and thrive in all aspects. If I can be a part of that journey, I will be happy.
What’s your favourite part about working with educators and schools?
Finding the perfect match between an educator and a school and the positive feedback that comes from both parties, knowing it is a product of the time and effort you have put in to reach those results. This then helps to build relationships and trust that you have the best interests in mind for the educators and for the schools looking for the perfect person.
If you could share one piece of advice with someone considering a career in education, what would it be?
The good days hugely outweigh the bad days, and you always have an impact, whether you realise it instantly or not.
Short Biography about you
My main background is football; I played for Derby County for 13 years before going into a residential SEND setting. This is where I found a passion for the education sector and seeing the impact the smallest details can have on young people and the rewarding nature of the industry. For the last 6 years I have been in a sales role in the renewable energy sector, mostly in domestic and commercial Solar PV systems. Away from work, I am an assistant manager of a local non-league football club and have a young family with 2 daughters with plenty of energy and attitude to keep me busy and on my toes.
