On the 8th March, it is International Woman’s Day. This day is a global day celebrating the achievements of women across history all over the world whilst also being a day to fight for the equality of women. This is a very special day that was created in Germany in 1914 and has been happening every year since then! We would like to dedicate this day to all of our female teachers and staff, they work so hard and we are always so proud!
There have been some powerful women in history such as Rosa Parks, Princess Diana, Joan of Arc and Marilyn Monroe and these women continue to inspire men and women across the world. Each and everyday women inspire us all and I have asked the rest of the Link3 Team which women inspire them. We agreed that all of the women mentioned below are very inspirational.
Malala is a Pakistani activist for female education and a very inspiration woman. As a young girl, at the age of 15, she defied the Taliban in Pakistan and demanded that girls be allowed to receive an education. This resulted in her being shot in the head and thankfully she survived and is able to tell her story today and continue advocating girls’ education. This was very scary for her to do but she stood up for what she believed in and this has made a massive difference to the world today. She is also the youngest person to receive a Noble Peace Price!
When the whole world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful
