Behaviour Mentor – Full Time

Job Description

We are recruiting a committed and resilient Behaviour Mentor to work in a mainstream secondary school in the NG7 area. This is an active, hands-on role supporting students who require additional behavioural and pastoral support to remain engaged in learning.

You will be on call throughout the school day, working in corridors, monitoring student attendance in lessons, and responding to classroom call-outs via radio to support behaviour and escort students when required. You will have access to a radio at all times to ensure effective communication and swift response across the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group behaviour mentoring
  • Build positive relationships to support engagement and emotional regulation
  • Be on call during the school day, patrolling corridors and monitoring lesson attendance
  • Respond to classroom call-outs via radio and escort students when necessary
  • Support students in managing behaviour and emotions
  • Act as a positive role model with clear boundaries and expectations
  • Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
  • Monitor and record student behaviour and engagement

Requirements

  • Experience working with young people in a mainstream secondary school or similar setting
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
