We are currently recruiting for a passionate and resilient SEN Teacher to join a brand-new Alternative Provision setting in NG6. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher looking for a rewarding role supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), SEMH needs, and additional barriers to education.
This role is ideal for teachers with experience in:
- SEN Schools
- PRUs (Pupil Referral Units)
- Alternative Provision
- SEMH settings
- Behaviour support
- Trauma-informed education
- Youth support or pastoral roles
You will teach a small group of learners across Maths, English, and Business, delivering personalised education tailored to individual needs while helping students build confidence, resilience, and independence.

Our Alternative Provision offers a nurturing, trauma-informed learning environment where young people feel safe, supported, and motivated to achieve. We focus on both academic progress and emotional wellbeing, helping students re-engage with education through flexible and specialist support.
Alongside core subjects, our programmes include practical life skills, employability skills, and preparation for adulthood, supporting students to become active and confident members of their community.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons in Maths, English, and Business
- Differentiate learning to meet a range of SEN and SEMH needs
- Build strong, positive relationships with students
- Use trauma-informed and restorative approaches in the classroom
- Support emotional regulation, behaviour, and wellbeing
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social development
- Work collaboratively with support staff and external professionals
- Create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience supporting SEN, SEMH, or vulnerable learners preferred
- Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach
