What inspired you to work in education recruitment?
I left school at a young age, feeling disconnected and unsupported by a system that never quite felt right for me. I didn’t build strong relationships with my teachers and, at the time, education simply didn’t seem like my path. But life has a way of leading us back to unexpected places.
What’s your favourite part about working with educators and schools?
Becoming a parent changed everything. As I got involved in my children's schooling, I saw education from a whole new angle and for the first time, I felt a sense of purpose within it. I realised I could make a real difference by helping place passionate, dedicated individuals into schools, people who could inspire and support students in ways I never experienced myself.
If you could share one piece of advice with someone considering a career in education, what would it be?
I’m genuinely passionate about what I do. Honesty, transparency, and reliability are at the core of how I work. In recruitment, especially in the education sector, building trust with both clients and candidates is everything. It’s not just about filling roles; it’s about finding the right people to shape young lives. To anyone considering a career in education, I’d say this: it’s not easy. It can be challenging, emotionally demanding, and at times frustrating. But the impact you can have makes it all worthwhile. There’s something incredibly powerful about knowing you’ve helped improve a child’s school experience, even in a small way.
Short Biography
I’m a proud mum to four amazing daughters who are now living independent lives, and a very proud Nan to Olive, my ten-month-old granddaughter. I was born in Hampshire, raised in South London, and moved to Coventry in 1998, where I’ve built my life, raised my family, and launched my career in education recruitment.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me outdoors. Whether I’m hiking, walking, or discovering new places, that’s when I feel most grounded and alive.
