The school has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and fosters a culture of excellence, teamwork, and care.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive, organised, and personable School Administrator to join the team and play a pivotal role in the smooth day-to-day running of the school office.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for parents, staff, and visitors — providing exceptional customer service while managing a range of administrative and organisational duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for all school enquiries via phone, email, and in person.

  • Provide efficient administrative support to the Headteacher and senior leadership team.

  • Manage attendance records, pupil data, and admissions using the school’s MIS (e.g. SIMS/Arbor).

  • Coordinate correspondence and communication between staff, parents, and external stakeholders.

  • Support financial administration, including processing invoices, payments, and petty cash.

  • Maintain and update school records, databases, and safeguarding information in line with GDPR requirements.

  • Assist with organising events, meetings, and staff cover.

  • Ensure the smooth operation of office systems, stock management, and general school logistics.

About You

You will be a confident, professional, and approachable individual who thrives in a busy, people-focused environment.

Essential skills & attributes:

  • Previous experience in an administrative role (preferably within a school or educational setting).

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office and school management software (SIMS, Arbor, or similar).

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • A calm, adaptable, and solution-focused approach under pressure.

  • Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding practices.

Desirable:

  • Experience in school finance or HR administration.

  • Knowledge of local authority procedures and compliance requirements.

What’s on Offer

  • A welcoming, supportive team and a positive working culture.

  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.

  • The chance to play a key role in the success of a vibrant primary school community.

  • Competitive salary and generous annual leave (including school holidays).
