Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant – Infant School (Rugby, CV22)

Full-time | Permanent | Start ASAP

Are you the kind of person who sees potential where others see challenge? Do you thrive in a role where every day is different, every child is unique, and your impact is genuinely life‑changing? If so, our warm and welcoming infant school in Rugby (CV22) would love to meet you.

We are a small, community‑focused school with a big heart. Our children are curious, energetic, and full of personality — and some of them need a little extra support to shine. That’s where you come in.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child with significant additional needs. This is a role for someone who brings both expertise and emotional resilience — someone who understands that behaviour is communication and responds with calm, confidence, and consistency.

What We’re Looking For

You will be a great fit if you:

  • Have substantial experience supporting children with high‑level SEN needs, ideally in an infant or primary setting

  • Have worked 1:1 with children with additional needs and understand the importance of tailored, child‑centred support

  • Are confident managing extremely challenging behaviour using positive, proactive strategies

  • Stay calm under pressure and don’t take things personally

  • Bring patience, humour, and a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers

  • Are ready for daily challenges — and daily rewards

  • Work well as part of a supportive, dedicated team

What We Offer

  • A nurturing, inclusive school community

  • Supportive leadership who value your wellbeing and professional growth

  • Opportunities for ongoing training in SEN and behaviour support

  • A role where your work truly matters — every single day

How to Apply

If you’re ready to make a meaningful difference and join a school that will appreciate your skills, resilience, and heart, we’d love to hear from you. Please send your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your SEN experience.
